We are currently seeking a Welfare Officer for IELS Limited and its subsidiaries. The student Welfare Officer will be responsible for all the individual welfare needs of every student both on and off site and will assist the Residence Supervisor, Head Welfare Officer and Welfare Coordinator directly in carrying out all tasks concerned with the arrival, duration and departure of the students, liaising with group leaders, welcoming students and seeing to their well-being during class time, activities and student residences.

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • To assist the Welfare Coordinator and Head Welfare Officer in carrying out all tasks concerned with the setting up, administration and closing down of the Young Learner school as advised by line management;
  • To deal with and be responsible for all the individual welfare needs of all IELS students, in particular the Young Learners;
  • To prepare student details in advance of arrival, such as handbooks and tests;
  • Meeting and greeting new students on the arrival day and first day of school and brief them on the rules, regulations and general information;
  • Assisting the Head Welfare Officer and the Welfare coordinator in handling student complaints and issues, ensuring reports are answered in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Liaising with both foreign Group Leaders and IELS Activity Leaders to ensure that excursions and activities run smoothly, and attendance records are fully checked;
  • Handling student questionnaires and evaluating information regarding any issues which need addressing;
  • To arrange doctor/dentist/hospital appointments as required and accompany students accordingly or arranging the same;
  • Spot checking hotels and venues, ensure all rules are being followed and ensuring student attendance at school and activities is regular.
